Bad break for Dmytrulin

FC Dynamo Kyiv's Ukrainian international defender Yuriy Dmytrulin has been sidelined by a broken leg.

Early injury
The 28-year-old defender sustained the injury to his left ankle eight minutes into Dynamo's Premier League win against FC Arsenal Kyiv on Tuesday. He will be in plaster until at least the end of August, when the exact time of his recovery will become clearer.

Key games
Dmytrulin will miss both legs of Dynamo's UEFA Champions League third qualifying round tie against as yet unknown opponents next month. He has also been ruled out of Ukraine's potentially decisive UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifiers against Northern Ireland and Spain in early September. The injury is a further blow to Dmytrulin, who made only 19 appearances for Dynamo last season due to injury.

Further problems
Dynamo have other injury problems, with Belarussian forward Valentin Belkevich and Bulgarian midfield player Gueorgui Peev both struggling for fitness. "Belkevich is recovering and is due to start training in the coming days," said Dynamo coach Olexiy Mikhailichenko. "However, Peev is only starting to recover from a heavy ankle injury."
