A promising French playmaker of Croatian descent, Grégory Sertic joined FC Girondins de Bordeaux at youth level before graduating to the first-team squad in 2009 and winning the Ligue 1 title a month after his debut.
• Signed for Bordeaux at 16 and impressed in the youth team, scoring seven goals in 20 games during the 2006/07 season.
• Made his first-team bow on 29 April 2009 in vital 3-2 win at Stade Rennais FC and featured in the final six games of title run-in.
• A French Under-21 international, he was part of the team that reached the final of the Toulon tournament in 2009.
• Made two appearances in group stage of 2009/10 UEFA Champions League − both as a substitute against Maccabi Haifa FC.
