Clubs: FC Torpedo Moskva, FC Chernomorets Novorossiysk, PFC CSKA Moskva

• Started out with FC Torpedo-ZIL Moskva; left brother Vasili behind and went to play for FC Chernomorets Novorossiysk in 2001 but soon rejoined his twin at CSKA, where he made the better initial impression.

• First capped by Russia in February 2003, the year in which he was the only ever-present in CSKA's first Russian title triumph.

• Crowned Premier-Liga champion twice more, in 2005 and 2006, missing just three games in the process.

• A UEFA Cup winner in 2004/05 at the end of a marathon European campaign in which he played 18 matches; headed the equalising goal in the final against Sporting Clube de Portugal in Lisbon.

• Played 120 minutes of CSKA's 2008 Russian Cup final triumph over FC Amkar Perm, but featured for barely a minute as the Army Men retained it the following year against FC Rubin Kazan.

• Ever-present for CSKA in the 2011/12 UEFA Champions League group stage, in which his brother headed an 86th-minute winner on matchday six against FC Internazionale Milano to take his side into the last 16.

• A starter in all three of Russia's group games at UEFA EURO 2012 as the country failed to progress to the knockout phase but made up for it the following season as CSKA won a league and cup double.
