• Signed his first professional contract with Moskva aged 16 and made his league debut at 18 in a 1-1 draw with CSKA on 3 August 2005.
• Started just six league games in each of his first three seasons and was not involved when Moskva reached the 2007 Cup final against FC Lokomotiv Moskva.
• Enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2008, appearing in half of club's league games and all four UEFA Cup ties before establishing himself as defensive mainstay in 2009, starting 28 Premier-Liga matches.
• A former Russian Under-21 international, he gained further European experience upon switching to CSKA, making seven appearances as the Army Men reached the last 16 of the 2010/11 UEFA Europa League.
