UEFA European Under-21 Championship: runner-up 2007
• Left hometown club Srem for Beograd in 2003 and remained there until Lokomotiv signed him in January 2006.
• Enjoyed two successful seasons with Lokomotiv, making 54 Premier-Liga appearances, winning the 2007 Russian Cup and earning a €13m move to Chelsea.
• Prominent performer for his country at UEFA European Under-21 Championship finals of 2006 and 2007, he starred in Serbia's successful 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign, starting nine matches and scoring three goals.
• Stood in regularly as a replacement right-back for the injured José Bosingwa in 2009/10, winning the league and FA Cup; made three appearances at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
• Scored two headers against Liverpool FC at Anfield in the 2008/09 UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg, which Chelsea won 3-1, but was not on target in the Premier League until 30 October 2010 and a 2-1 victory at Blackburn Rovers FC.
• Signed a new contract in February 2011 that will keep him at Stamford Bridge for a further five years.
