Coach: Hameş Şentürk
Date of birth: 20/04/68
A central defender and left-back, Hameş Şentürk spent a year in the MKE Ankaragücü youth ranks, later playing professionally for third-tier Aksarayspor before returning to his first club, Başkent EDAŞ. He now coaches Başkent's youth teams and helped select the Ankara UEFA Regions' Cup squad before being named as its coach.
Team profile
The side from the Turkish capital earned their right to play in the UEFA Regions' Cup by winning a 12-team national amateur tournament staged in Konya in April 2010, and are the only contenders at the finals to have made it through the preliminary and intermediary rounds, winning all three of their Group 4 games in Slovenia.
The team is dominated by students of physical education, along with plenty of players who work for private companies. Together, they reached Portugal thanks to a game plan which emphasised pressing and slick passing, and they are particularly dangerous when attacking down the flanks.
Coach Şentürk said: "We have faith in our players. They are very determined to be successful and the atmosphere in the team is very good. We want to top the group and then bring the trophy to Turkey. We want to show that amateur sides can be a credit to their country."
