Europe's top amateur tournament returns to Little Poland with Małopolska hosting the first 2010/11 UEFA Regions' Cup intermediary round mini-tournament, five years after they staged the finals.
The first steps on the road to next year's final tournament will take place in familiar surroundings, with the GKS Janina and LKS Przeboj stadiums – venues for the opening Group 7 fixtures on Tuesday 3 August – both having held games during the 2005 finals. Hosts Małopolska kick off their challenge in the former stadium, in Libiaz, with a fixture against South Region Russia, while Helsinki of Finland meet Belarus's FC Azot in the section's other match in Wolbrom.
The sides will play each other once over the course of the five-day mini-tournament, with the pool winners scheduled to be the first to earn a place in next summer's eight-team final tournament. The competition, which is open only to players who have never played at any professional level, concludes in June 2011, with the tournament being staged by one of the eight regional associations that qualify.
