Franco Ballarini was suspended for the final, but his four goals in the group stage were enough for him to finish as the top scorer in the 2012/13 UEFA Regions' Cup.
4 Franco Ballarini (Veneto)
The Italy striker confused UEFA.com's reporters by wearing No3 (Veneto having allocated outfield players' shirts in alphabetical order) and bewildered defences more. A consummate predator, the tax collector's four goals came from a combined distance of barely 20 metres, but that knack for being in the right place at the right time served him well – though he missed the final after collecting a second booking of the tournament against Keleti Régió on Thursday.
3 Paul Maguire (Eastern Region)
The Northern Irish side endured a miserable start at the finals as a goalkeeping blunder and an unstoppable strike from Federico Andres Lorenzatti sent them spinning toward a 4-1 opening-day loss to Veneto, but they showed their true colours beating Qarachala 5-2 in their final fixture. Maguire scored a rare UEFA Regions' Cup hat-trick in that game, including a long-range strike after he dispossessed goalkeeper Umud Pashayev outside his penalty area.
2 Oscar Muñoz (Selección Catalana)
Tall and powerful, the pharmaceutical engineering student demonstrated his startling ball control as he played keepy-up for the cameras on the banks of Venice's Grand Canal. He scored in both of Selección Catalana's opening fixtures, when he was the spearhead of most of Toni Almendros's side's attacks, with his second against Yugoiztochen Region proving particularly important as his side salvaged a 2-2 draw against the wily Bulgarian side.
2 Imre Domokos (Keleti Régió)
The Hungarian team were not bristling with startling individuals, but coach Tamás Feczkó deserves huge acclaim for the way he crafted a side to harry and intimidate opposing teams. Domokos was the main beneficiary of this in the opening game against Qarachala, twice converting from the penalty spot in the closing stages of the first half. An administrative assistant by day, he returns to Hungary as the proud owner of a UEFA Regions' Cup bronze medal.
