The intermediary round of the 2006/07 UEFA Regions' Cup is taking shape, with Central-West preliminary round winners Northern Ireland Eastern Region AMA taking their place in Group 4 alongside opponents from the Czech Republic, England and Slovakia.
Preliminary resultsThe Group East preliminary round tournament will take place between 19 and 23 September, with the winners - either Greek hosts Eastern Attica AMA, Belarus's Belkard AMA, Moldova's Chisinau AMA or Russia's Southern Federal District AMA - taking the remaining empty space in Group 7. The best runners-up from the two preliminary round tournaments will join sides from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Hungary and Croatia in Group 3.
Reigning championsThe world's premier tournament for Amateur football, the UEFA Regions' Cup is contested every two years by teams representing their local region, or their nation in the case of smaller states. The eight winners of the intermediary round mini-tournaments will compete in a final tournament next summer. Spanish representatives Vasca AMA have the chance to defend the title they won in 2005 should they progress from Group 1.
