• A product of the Luninetsk DYuSSh and RUOR Minsk youth academies, Yermakovich spent the bulk of his playing days with BATE. He started his career as a midfielder in 1992 with Dinamo-2 Minsk before turning out for Ataka Minsk from 1993 to 1997.

• Moved to BATE in 1998 and, over the course of the next decade, became an influential figure. He captained the team and formed a central midfield partnership with Dmitri Likhtarovich that was the best in Belarus for several years.

• Won the league title in 1999, 2002, 2007 and 2008 and a domestic double in 2006. He was voted among the top 22 Belarusian league players four times: in 1999, 2002, 2006 and 2007.

• His last competitive appearance before joining BATE's coaching staff under Viktor Goncharenko was as a late substitute in a goalless draw against Juventus on matchday six of the 2008/09 UEFA Champions League.

• Having succeeded Goncharenko as coach on 14 October 2013 he guided BATE to the Vysshaya Liga title and, the following August, through three qualifying rounds into the group stage of Europe's premier club competition.
