An up-and-coming right-back who can also play as a winger, Daniel Wass pushed his name forward for senior international recognition with an excellent 2010/11 season for Brøndby IF, at the end of which he earned a transfer to SL Benfica, who subsequently sent him on loan to French club Évian Thonon Gaillard FC.
• A hot prospect during his time in the Brøndby youth academy, he won recognition for Denmark at Under-16 level and every age group thereafter through to his senior debut as a half-time substitute in a friendly against England at Parken in February 2011.
• Broke into the Brøndby first team in 2007/08 before injury struck; amassed 28 Superligaen appearances the following campaign and also made his European debut in the UEFA Cup, opening his goalscoring account in a first qualifying round tie against B36 Tórshavn.
• Experienced an unhappy interlude on loan to Norwegian club Fredrikstad FK in 2009 before coming good back at Brøndby in 2010/11 under coach Henrik Jensen, missing just one of the team's 33 Superligaen encounters and scoring six goals.
• Signed a five-year contract with Benfica in May 2011 – before the Superligaen campaign had concluded – but two months later he was loaned to Évian, who had just been promoted to France's Ligue 1.
• Subsequently joined at Évian by compatriots Stephan Andersen, Thomas Kahlenberg and Christian Poulsen, he scored three goals in four Ligue 1 games in November/December 2011, the first of them in a 2-1 defeat of FC Lorient.
