• A Shakhtar academy graduate, he left the Pitmen as a free agent in March 2010, and signed for Zorya, where six months of impressive performances prompted a return to Donetsk on a five-year contract.

• Came on as a late substitute in four games as Shakhtar reached the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals for the first time in 2010/11.

• Started Ukraine's 2009 UEFA European Under-19 Championship opener against Slovenia (0-0) but missed the remainder of the tournament with a knee injury.
