• Born in Avion, Pas-de-Calais, of Polish descent, Kolodziejczak played youth football for local club US Saint-Maurice Loos before joining home-town team Avion in summer 1999.
• Joined Lens the following year and trained at the Centre de Préformation de Football in nearby Lievin, alongside future Chelsea FC forward Gaël Kakuta.
• Moved to Lyon on a season-long loan in August 2008, making his debut three months later in a league match against Paris Saint-Germain FC (0-1) as a substitute.
• Signed for €2.5m on a four-year deal in 2009 but found playing time limited; sampled UEFA Champions League football for the first time, as a substitute, against Debreceni VSC (4-0) in September.
• Represented France at various youth levels, scoring in the 2008 UEFA European Under-17 Championship semi-final against Turkey (4-3 on penalties) and playing in all five matches as Les Petits Bleus avenged Spain in the 2010 UEFA European Under-19 Championship showpiece (2-1).
