On the standby list for Ukraine's UEFA EURO 2012 squad, Roman Bezus made his debut for Oleh Blokhin's side in a 3-3 draw against Germany in Kyiv on 11 November 2011. An attacking midfielder who can also operate as a second striker, he plays his club football for FC Vorskla Poltava.
• Joined home-town FC Kremin Kremenchuk in his mid-teens and began his career for the club in the third tier of the Ukrainian league.
• Switched to Vorksla midway through the 2008/09 season but made just one substitute appearance before breaking through in 2009/10 and scoring three goals in five games in the autumn; also came off the bench in both legs of a UEFA Europa League play-off against SL Benfica – his first experience of European football.
• Increased his involvement and goal output for Vorskla in 2010/11, scoring five goals in 26 outings as Mykola Pavlov's team re-qualified for Europe.
• Helped Vorskla through three qualifying ties and into the UEFA Europa League group stage in 2011/12, scoring a penalty in the 3-1 defeat at Hannover 96 that concluded their campaign.
• After scoring both goals for Ukraine's Under-21 side in a 2-2 draw against Malta, he made his senior debut against Germany the following month but was booked and substituted before half-time.
