Marcin Kamiński's breakthrough season with KKS Lech Poznań in 2011/12 ended with his surprise inclusion in Poland's UEFA EURO 2012 squad. A highly promising young central defender with impressive aerial ability, he was selected ahead of the more experienced Tomasz Jodłowiecz.
• Born in Konin, he moved to Lech in his early teens and developed his game in the club's youth system, making his first-team debut on 29 September 2009 in a Polish Cup tie against Stal Stalowa Wola.
• Made two starts and two substitute appearances in Lech's 2009/10 Ekstraklasa title-winning campaign.
• Made his European debut when he came on as a late substitute in a vital UEFA Europa League group game at home to Juventus on 1 December 2010
• Unused in the league in 2010/11 but became a mainstay in the Lech defence in 2011/12, making 28 Elstraklasa appearances, 22 of them in the starting XI.
• Awarded his first cap on 16 December 2011 in a friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Turkish city of Antalya.
