Stefanos Kapino made history when he took the field for Greece in a friendly against Romania on 15 November 2011, becoming, at the age of 17 years and 241 days, the youngest senior Greek international of all time The highly-rated Panathinaikos FC youngster could be a wild-card selection for UEFA EURO 2012.
• Joined Panathianikos at the age of 13 − following a trial with rivals Olympiacos FC − and emerged through the Athens club's youth ranks.
• Became the Greece Under-17 team's youngest representative when first capped at 15 and went on to make several appearances for his country at U17 and U19 level.
• Made his Greek Super League debut as a substitute for red-carded Orestis Kamezis against Atromitos FC on 17 September 2011 and went on to make 12 top-flight appearances in Jesualdo Ferreira's side.
• Fast-tracked into the senior national squad, he conceded three goals to Romania on his debut − a low-key friendly in the Austrian town of Altach − but was widely praised for his efforts, suggesting that he could be the long-term successor to UEFA EURO 2004 hero Antonios Nikopolidis.
