• Aduriz was born in San Sebastian and developed his striking talents at Athletic, where he had two seasons in the B team before making his Liga debut against FC Barcelona (0-2) on 14 September 2002.
• Scored 16 goals in the third tier for Burgos in 2003/04 and 20 in one and a half seasons of second-tier football for Valladolid before returning to Bilbao in January 2006.
• Established himself as a Liga player over the next two and a half seasons, scoring 22 goals in 82 games, before signing a four-year contract with Mallorca.
• Reached double figures in each of two campaigns with Mallorca, registering 11 goals in 2008/09 and 12 in 2009/10, in each case being top scorer as the island club finished ninth and fifth, respectively, in the Liga.
• Joined Valencia in 2010 and started well, scoring on his league debut against Málaga CF (3-1) and on his first UEFA Champions League outing – a 4-0 win at Bursaspor.
• That earned him a call-up for Spain, and he made his debut on 8 October 2010 in their UEFA EURO 2012 qualifier against Lithuania (3-1), replacing former Athletic strike partner Fernando Llorente in the 77th-minute.
