Which player most inspired you and why? Leo Messi. He has accomplished so much at a very young age. Proving that it takes one individual to make a personal commitment to become the best. His passion, work rate on and off the ball, technical skills, quickness, intelligence, humble attitude – everything is admirable. He is a great teammate as well.
Which coach most inspired you? Gary, Carine and Simon Ireland, Lesle Gallimore and Amy Griffin.
What was the best advice they gave you? If I want to be the best and compete with the best, I have to learn how to train like the best or better. Put in the time. Also they tell me to go out there and play like myself and create magic.
Best player you've played with? My youth trainers, Aya Miyama, Hope Solo, Keelin Winters.
Toughest opponent? USA, Japan, and France women's national teams.
What are your memories of your first club as a child? Having the greatest time just playing, not caring about anything else.
What tip would you give a young player hoping to succeed? Live the sport. Embrace everything it makes you feel. The good, the bad – you will experience all different kinds of emotions but that's what makes it unique and special. Don't expect to reach your goals if you don't invest time and work hard to be the best you can be. Find whatever it is that makes you click and go with it. Enjoy playing: it shouldn't be a sacrifice because you love the game.
