Enzo Maresca

An Italian youth international at every level from Under-15 to U21, Enzo Maresca subsequently made a name for himself by winning two successive UEFA Cups with Sevilla FC. A constructive midfielder with good ball control and a wide range of passes, he left Sevilla for Greek champions Olympiacos FC in 2009.

• Groomed at AC Milan and Cagliari Calcio, his first professional experience came at West Bromwich Albion FC, where he scored five goals in 47 appearances in English second tier.

• Recruited by Juventus in January 2000 while still a teenager; spent following season on loan at Bologna FC but returned to Turin and took part in Scudetto-winning 2001/02 campaign under Marcello Lippi, making 16 appearances (all but one as a substitute) and scoring one goal – in a 2-2 draw against city rivals Torino FC.

• Had further loan spells at Piacenza Calcio and ACF Fiorentina before leaving his homeland for Sevilla in 2005.

• Won UEFA Cup in first season at Andalusian club, scoring three goals. Two came in the final, a 4-0 defeat of Middlesbrough FC in Eindhoven, for which he was named man of the match; less prominent as Sevilla retained trophy in 2007 while also adding UEFA Super Cup and Copa del Rey to their haul.

• Left Sevilla after four seasons, signing three-year contract with Olympiacos in July 2009; scored on league debut in 2-0 win at Larissa FC on 30 August.
