Clubs: US Cremonese, Torino FC, Brescia Calcio (loan), Real Betis Balompié, Parma FC, AS Roma (loan)

• A speedy left-back, Castellini played lower-league football for Cremonese before moving in 2000 to Torino, where he achieved promotion to Serie A in his first season and went on to play for Italy at the 2002 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.

• Made 65 Serie A appearances in two years for Torino before joining home-town club Brescia on loan midway through 2003/04 following the Granata's relegation the previous campaign.

• Moved abroad to play in Spain with Betis in 2004 but barely featured in two injury-wrecked seasons; found his feet again in Italy with Parma, whom he linked up with in summer 2006.

• Relegated with Parma in 2008 but promoted at the first attempt as runners-up and reached 95 Serie A appearances for the club by the end of 2009/10.

• Joined Roma on loan for 2010/11 and made his UEFA Champions League debut on Matchday 2 in a 2-1 home win against CFR 1907 Cluj.
