• An attacking midfielder, Jurado started out with Madrid but made only three Liga appearances before a 2006 switch to city rivals Atlético.

• Represented Spain at various youth levels and competed at the 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Championship in Sweden, starting all three matches.

• Was a regular for Atlético in his debut campaign there (2006/07) but lost his way the season after and was farmed out on loan to Mallorca, where he was handed the No10 shirt and excelled, scoring nine goals in 35 Liga encounters.

• Returned to Atlético in 2009/10 and played in every Liga, UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League match; came off the bench midway through the second half of the UEFA Europa League final against Fulham FC (2-1 AET).

• Appeared as a substitute in the 2010 UEFA Super Cup triumph over FC Internazionale Milano (2-0) and three days later scored Atlético's first Liga goal of the season in a 4-0 defeat of Real Sporting de Gijón.

• Left for Schalke the next day, signing a four-year contract; scored twice in the 2010/11 UEFA Champions League group stage – versus Hapoel Tel-Aviv FC and SL Benfica – and registered his first Bundesliga goal in a 2-0 win against champions FC Bayern München.
