History
•  Founded in 1916 by a group of soldiers based in Volyn, Ukraine, to represent the World War One Polish Legions, it quickly became the Polish army's principal club.

• Legia had to wait until the mid-1950s for their first league titles, triumphing in 1954/55 and 1955/56 to claim consecutive Polish doubles.

• Lucjan Brychczy and Kazimierz Deyna were key figures as Legia won back-to-back titles in 1968/69 and 1969/70. The latter in particular was a season to remember for Warsaw side, who reached the European Champion Clubs' Cup semi-finals before losing 2-0 on aggregate to Feyenoord.

• Over the next 20 years Legia won the Polish Cup four times (1973, 1980, 1981, 1989) before rising to prominence again in the 1990s, reaching the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup semi-finals in 1991 and claiming back-to-back domestic doubles. The Army Men advanced to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals in 1996 and won league titles in 2002 and 2006.

• They marked their first season at the new 31,000-capacity Legia Stadium in 2010/11 by finishing third before lifting a 14th Polish Cup – no other side has managed more than six. They claimed No15 in 2012 and their 16th the next campaign, when they also won the Ekstraklasa for the first time since 2006.
