History
• Lechia started life as BOP Baltia Gdańsk in post-war Poland, winning promotion in 1947 before immediately being relegated – it was a sign of things to come for a club that have had a yo-yo existence.

• They went up, the down, then back up and in 1956 the Biało-zieloni claimed third in the top flight, their highest ever league finish.

• Their annus mirabilis came in 1983 when, having won promotion to the second tier, they claimed the Polish Cup, beating GKS Piast Gliwice 2-1 in the final of a campaign that saw them account for KS Ruch Chorzów and WKS Śląsk Wrocław.

• The following season they beat titleholders KKS Lech Poznań in the inaugural Polish Super Cup, gaining top-flight promotion after a 21-year absence and lost 10-2 to Juventus in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup.

• Four years later they were relegated and the 1990s was tumultuous, bringing a series of mergers. They returned to the Polish football elite in 2007/08, finishing 13th out of 16 teams in 2011/12.
