Busy grassroots summer in Belarus

Summer football camps and tournaments for youngsters in Belarus proved a big success with national coach Bernd Stange among those offering their support to the activities.

The Football Federation of Belarus (BFF) has been busy this summer actively promoting grassroots football among youngsters with a series of summer camps and tournaments arranged.

The first three camps took place in June in the Minsk region, with each then coming together to compete in a tournament. Each camp was represented by teams in several age groups, as well as a girls' team. Such was the success of the event that the BFF decided to develop it and organised seven more camps in July with another tournament taking place between the participants.

Among the dignitaries to visit the camps was Belarus national team coach, Bernd Stange. His appearance proved to be very popular among children and adults alike, with everyone wanting to have their photo taken with him. General secretary of the BFF, Andrey Sidorenya, was also in attendance to present the winners of the tournament with balls and other gifts.

During both tournaments, football festivals were organised for children aged between six and nine, played under the watchful eye of grassroots football ambassadors.
