EURO 2012 and 2016 rights awarded in France

UEFA has reached agreements with TF1, M6 and beIN SPORT for the French media rights for UEFA EURO 2012, as well as for UEFA EURO 2016 which will be held in France.

UEFA has announced it has reached agreements with TF1, M6 and beIN SPORT for the French media rights both for UEFA EURO 2012 and for UEFA EURO 2016 in France.

The free-to-air coverage of 19 live matches for UEFA EURO 2012 and 22 live games for UEFA EURO 2016 will be shared by TF1 and M6. These will include the opening fixture, all France national team games, knockout stage matches and the final of both tournaments.

Meanwhile, beIN SPORT will cover the two competitions in their entirety and show all UEFA EURO 2012 and UEFA EURO 2016 matches. Magazine and highlights programmes will also be broadcast on the beIN SPORT channels leading up to and during the tournaments, meaning football fans in France will be offered an extensive and innovative broadcast platform to watch both championships.

All games will also be available online and on the move through the broadcasters' digital media outlets.

Commenting on the agreement, Guy-Laurent Epstein, marketing director of UEFA Events SA, said: "We are delighted to extend our agreements with leading commercial broadcasters TF1 and M6 and to further consolidate our partnership with beIN SPORT in France for UEFA EURO 2012 and UEFA EURO 2016. TF1 and M6 have experience in broadcasting national team football and UEFA European Football Championships, while beIN SPORT will offer wide and qualitative coverage of both tournaments.

"These agreements will provide French football fans with a fantastic multiplatform broadcast of this summer's competition in Poland and Ukraine, and of 2016 in their own country."
