The East European Assistance Bureau (EEAB) has been involved in many worthy developments in recent years, none so wide as the football training camp programmes in Russia.

Launching soon
With EEAB assistance, the Football Union of Russia (RFS) have been preparing to hold a series of training camps in various regions across Russia. The official opening of the first training camp is scheduled to take place in summer 2002.

Volgograd location
The training camp in question is situated in Volgograd. The project began with the agreement of UEFA's Development and Assistance Committee to support one of the regions in Russia, and build an artificial pitch with a heating system.

Local club use
The local club, SC Rotor Vologograd, was responsible for work on the base of the artificial pitch, and this club will derive most benefit from the facilities. A building is also being contructed to help accommodate the region's most talented players.
