UEFA Appeals Body rejects Sevilla protest

Sevilla FC's protest about their UEFA Europa League tie against Paris Saint-Germain FC was refused for a second time as UEFA's Appeals Body upheld the original disciplinary ruling.

The UEFA Appeals Body has upheld the decision of the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body to reject a protest made by Sevilla FC concerning their UEFA Europa League home match against Paris Saint-Germain FC last month.

The Appeals Body today decided to rule against the Spanish club's appeal – which related to the eligibility of PSG's goalkeeper in the match on 16 September, Apoula Édel – and, in doing so, confirmed for a second time the result of the Group J game: a 1-0 victory for PSG in Seville.

The Control and Disciplinary Body had turned down the initial Sevilla protest, a ruling that was made public on 24 September.
