UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against both MŠK Žilina and FC Spartak Moskva following the clubs' UEFA Champions League Group F match in Slovakia on 8 December.
The disciplinary case opened against Russian side Spartak is for the improper conduct of supporters. As well as there being a pitch invasion at the Štadión MŠK Žilina, fireworks were set off and thrown and stewards were attacked by supporters.
Žilina, meanwhile, face charges of improper conduct by the team – the home players having received five yellow cards – and of insufficient organisation, related to the pitch invasion by away fans. Each club's case will be discussed and dealt with by the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body at its meeting on Thursday 16 December.
