Appeal lodged against Rooney suspension

UEFA has received an official written appeal by the English FA against the three-match ban given to England striker Wayne Rooney by the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body.

On Friday 4 November, UEFA received an official written appeal from the English Football Association (FA) against the three-match suspension given to England striker Wayne Rooney by the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body on 13 October, following his red card in the 74th minute of England's UEFA EURO 2012 Group G qualifier against Montenegro in Podgorica on 7 October.

A date for the UEFA Appeals Body hearing will be communicated in due course.
