Italian club SSC Napoli have been punished by the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body for the inappropriate conduct of their supporters, insufficient organisation in the stadium and non-respect of UEFA directives related to stadium security at their UEFA Europa League Group F match against Swedish opponents AIK on 20 September.

The Control and Disciplinary Body decided to prohibit Napoli from selling tickets for sectors 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 23 and 24, as well as the sector for disabled spectators at the north end of the main stand (west stand) of the Stadio San Paolo, for their next UEFA Europa League game against FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk on 8 November.

This is unless Napoli can provide a report from an independent construction company which confirms, with photographic evidence, that the necessary repair work has been carried out and that the aforementioned stands meet all the relevant spectator safety standards. If such a report is submitted, the ban on ticket sales could be suspended for a probationary period of five years.

The Control and Disciplinary Body ruled that if satisfactory or partially satisfactory repairs have not been carried out by 6 November, in addition to the punishment mentioned above, the chairman of the body may, on the advice of the competent UEFA body, prohibit UEFA competition matches from taking place at the Stadio San Paolo.

Furthermore, the Control and Disciplinary Body ordered Napoli to play one UEFA competition game behind closed doors, subject to a probationary period of five years. The Italian club have also been fined €150,000.

Napoli may appeal against this decision within three days of the dispatch of the reasoned decision.
