Sparta lodge appeal

Cases

AC Sparta Praha have appealed against UEFA's ruling that they should play their next UEFA Champions League home tie behind partially closed doors.

Racist conduct
The Czech champions were handed that punishment, as well as a €32,000 fine, by UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Committee as a result of racist conduct by their fans during the Matchday 1 game against AFC Ajax in Prague on 14 September.

Home sectors closed
Sparta had until midnight on Monday to appeal against the sanction, which is due to apply to the home match against Group B rivals Arsenal FC on 18 October – when various sectors of the Sparta Stadium will be closed to home supporters.
