UEFA has imposed a four-match ban on RC Celta de Vigo midfield player Peter Luccin for spitting at an opponent during the UEFA Cup third round second-leg match against Celtic FC.
Video evidence
UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body made its judgement after viewing video evidence of the incident which involved the 23-year-old Frenchman and Celtic's John Hartson, and was missed by the referee.
May lodge appeal
Celta were 2-1 winners in the match, played on 12 December, but were eliminated on away goals following Celtic's 1-0 first-leg victory in Glasgow. The player and his club may lodge an appeal against the ban, which covers all UEFA club competition matches, by midnight on Sunday 19 January.
