O'Neill touchline ban modified

Cases

Celtic FC coach Martin O'Neill has had a two-match touchline ban modified to a one-match suspension.

Dismissed to the stands
O'Neill was dismissed to the grandstand after 78 minutes of the third round, first-leg match at Celtic Park on 28 November, which the Scottish champions won 1-0. The UEFA Control and Disciplinary Committee handed the initial two-match ban to O'Neill at its meeting in early December.

Luccin appeal rejected
Meanwhile, the Appeals Body has rejected an appeal by RC Celta de Vigo midfield player Peter Luccin against a four-match ban for spitting at an opponent during the second-leg encounter with Celtic in Spain on 12 December.

Video evidence
Luccin was appealing against last month's decision by the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body, who imposed the ban after viewing video evidence of the incident, which involved the 23-year-old Frenchman and Celtic's John Hartson, and was missed by the referee. Celta won the match 2-1, but were eliminated from the UEFA Cup on away goals as a result of Celtic's single-goal win in the first leg.
