The draw for the qualifying round of the 2012/13 UEFA Women’s Champions League will take place on Thursday 28 June at 14.00CET at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland.

The draw will be conducted by Karen Espelund, member of the UEFA Executive Committee by invitation and chairwoman of the UEFA Women's Football Committee, and Mikael Salzer, UEFA Head of Women's and Futsal Competitions.

The 2012/13 season sees a total of 54 teams competing in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, representing 46 nations. Thirty-two teams, the domestic champions ranked 15 to 46, start the competition in the qualifying round, whereas the top two in the eight highest-ranked nations and the champions of the next six qualify directly to the round of 32.

The 32 clubs in the qualifying round have been ranked according to their coefficient, and one team from each of the four seeding positions will be placed in the eight groups for the draw. The eight designated host teams will be drawn from a separate pot, placed in their group according to their seeding position. All eight group winners and the two best runners-up will proceed to the draw for the round of 32 and 16 on 23 August, with the two-legged knockout phase beginning the following month.
