Various issues
The PFSC's elected members met on Monday to discuss various issues regarding professional football in Europe, in its role as advisory body to the UEFA Executive Committee.
Executive Committee decisions
The members examined proposed amendments to the UEFA club competitions access list from 2009. The UEFA Executive Committee will meet in Lucerne, Switzerland, on 30 November and 1 December, ahead of the draw for next summer's UEFA EURO 2008™ final tournament, to decide on the final proposal.
Sport's specificity
In addition, the PFSC heard reports from the FIFA Strategic Committee, and on the recently agreed EU Reform Treaty which includes, for the first time, a reference to the specificity of sport. UEFA has welcomed this move as a positive development.
