Tallinn defeat not decisive for Red Star

FC Levadia Tallinn 2-1 FK Crvena Zvezda (agg: 2-2, Crvena Zvezda win on away goals) Igor Burzanović's away goal edged Red Star past their Estonian hosts.

FK Crvena Zvezda scraped into the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round on away goals after losing 2-1 against FC Levadia Tallinn in Estonia today.

Narrow margin
The Serbian champions were indebted to a 37th-minute strike from No10 Igor Burzanović which, although sandwiched by two Levadia goals, was enough for Red Star to prevail following last week's 1-0 win in Belgrade.

Red Star survive
The Estonian title-holders had levelled the aggregate scores through Deniss Malov on 33 minutes, but Burzanović swiftly restored the visitors' advantage with his decisive away goal. Levadia regained the lead on the night when Konstantin Nahk found the target on 68 minutes, and this prompted the hosts to lay siege to the Crvena Zvezda penalty area. However, Boško Djurovski's team survived the pressure and progressed to face Rangers FC of Scotland in the third qualifying round. For Tarmo Rüütli's Levadia, there was only pride to take from a performance that had stretched the favourites to the limit.
