Madrid count cost of victory

Real Madrid CF's Luis Figo and Guti are likely to miss next week's return with FC Porto.

May miss final
The pair are certain absentees from Saturday's league meeting with Deportivo Alavés and as well as missing the visit to Porto on 27 February, Figo, in particular, is now a doubt for the Copa del Rey final against RC Deportivo La Coruña on 6 March - the day of Madrid's centenary.

Fifteen-day absence
Figo twisted his right ankle in the third minute of the 1-0 defeat of Group C rivals Porto and was replaced on 15 minutes. According to club doctor Juan Carlos Hernández, the Portuguese international "had bruising and was in some pain". After tests on Wednesday, a spokesman said: "The estimated time of recovery will be 15 days."

Memory loss
Guti, meanwhile, left the field clearly dazed after feeling the full force of a Porto defender's knee in his face shortly after the half-hour. The player suffered memory loss and his condition will be monitored closely over the next 24 hours. Hernández told Madrid's official website: "In principle, it doesn't look as if he should have any major problems."
