The Tipster: Matchday 5

Juventus FC, AEK Athens FC and Bayer 04 Leverkusen players could all be in the goals this week.

After The Tipster directed you towards the goalscoring ability of Paul Scholes on UEFA Champions League Matchday Four, this week the advice is to look for players with the temperament for the big occasion, as several sides look to clinch a second group stage place - or at least stay alive in the competition.

Attacking Juve
Juventus FC's defeat at Newcastle United FC last week leaves them looking for victory at home to Feyenoord on Tuesday to be sure of progress, and although the Turin side have just one goal on their European travels, they have struck seven at the Stadio Delle Alpi, and expect Alessandro Del Piero, Marco Di Vaio and midfield players Pavel Nedved and Edgar Davids to spearhead an attacking Juve performance.

Watch Tsartas
AEK Athens FC scored five goals in their two matches against Real Madrid CF, and the Greek side will be confident at home against KRC Genk, who are yet to score. Vassilios Tsartas in midfield is AEK's set-piece specialist and could be one to watch. Meanwhile, Bayer 04 Leverkusen have recovered from their 6-2 loss at Olympiakos Piraeus FC on Matchday One and midfield trio Bernd Schneider, Yildiray Bastürk and Marko Babic could prove especially dangerous as last season's Champions League finalists host the Greek champions, who have lost three games, conceding ten goals, since that win.

United changes
AC Milan, Manchester United FC and FC Barcelona are already guaranteed a second group stage place, and all could rest key men as they face crucial domestic fixtures. United's midfield will definitely be without Ruud van Nistelrooij, Juan Sebastián Verón, Roy Keane, David Beckham, Nicky Butt and Fabien Barthez in Cyprus against Maccabi Haifa FC, although Scholes definitely plays and Milan's prolific Filippo Inzaghi, the Champions League's top scorer with eight goals, has a foot injury.

Aimar at his best
Players to impress at the weekend include the fit-again Pablo Aimar, who scored a hat-trick for Valencia CF against Athletic Club Bilbao ahead of their game at Liverpool FC; Ewerthon, who claimed two late goals for BV Borussia Dortmund at SV Werder Bremen prior to their home match with Arsenal FC; and Andriy Shevchenko, who was on target on his Milan comeback and could be fancied if used at RC Lens, a distinct possibility with Inzaghi injured.

Week delay
FC Basel's trip to FC Spartak Moskva has been postponed a week due to recent events in Moscow, but when it is played expect the Swiss visitors to employ their usual attacking style based around Hakan Yakin, Julio Hernán Rossi, and the hero against Valencia, Ivan Ergic, especially if Liverpool beat the Spanish champions this Wednesday to leave Christian Gross's side needing victory.
