Milan announced the same decision at the end of September, before changing their minds three days later after further talks with the player. The 31-year-old Rivaldo has not featured for the Rossoneri in Serie A this season and has played just 26 minutes in the UEFA Champions League. He joined Milan on a free transfer from FC Barcelona in summer 2002 and his contract was due to expire in 2005. The Brazilian will now look for a new club.
