Evsikov captured by Lokomotiv

FC Lokomotiv Moskva have looked to the future by signing Denis Evsikov from PFC CSKA Moskva.

Title winner
A product of the CSKA academy and a Russian international, Evsikov surged to prominence last season by helping CSKA claim the Premier-Liga title. The 22-year-old, who can also play in midfield, will join Lokomotiv at their pre-season training camp in Germany.

Gap filled
Evsikov, who will not be eligible for the UEFA Champions League knockout rounds, will fill the gap left by Sergei Ignashevitch who moved in the opposite direction last month. He is the latest signing by Lokomotiv, who have also added Lithuanian international Deividas Cesnauskis, Georgia Under-21 midfielder Roman Akhalkatsi, Russia forward Dmitri Sytchev, Mozambique defender Kampira Chapanga Samuel and Nigeria striker James Obiorah to their ranks.

Smirnov switch
Meanwhile, Dmitri Smirnov has signed for FC Alania Vladikavkaz. The 23-year-old midfielder, who previously played for FC Torpedo-Metallurg Moskva, FC Spartak Moskva and FC Chernomorets Krasnodarskiy Kray, is hoping to reignite his career by joining Rolland Courbis's new-look team.
