Sporting Clube de Portugal have brought Moisés back to European football after the Brazilian defender signed a two-year contract with the Lisbon club.

Russian spell
The centre-back, who turns 27 next month, spent three years in Russia between 2002 and 2004, including two campaigns at FC Spartak Moskva, where he played five times in the 2002/03 UEFA Champions League, and one with FC Krylya Sovetov Samara before heading home to Cruzeiro EC. Moisés will join Sporting on a free transfer to become the second new face this summer after the arrival of Sweden midfielder Pontus Farnerud.

'Very happy'
"I want to help the team win titles," said Moisés. "Sporting's interest in me came up a few months ago and today we have reached an agreement. I am very happy and I will work hard to repay the confidence shown in me. Sporting are a great club with lots of tradition and the team is always in the fight to win titles." Sporting will participate in the 2006/07 UEFA Champions League group stage after finishing as runners-up in last season's Liga behind FC Porto.
