Stéphane Dalmat has returned to France to sign for FC Girondins de Bordeaux on a free transfer from Real Racing Club Santander.

The 27-year-old spent last season in Spain after moving from FC Internazionale Milano, who had loaned him to Toulouse FC and Tottenham Hotspur FC in the two previous terms. Bordeaux coach Ricardo Gomes, who has also landed Johan Micoud from Werder Bremen as he looks towards the UEFA Champions League group stage, said of Dalmat: "He is a player who can meet our needs on the left side of midfield."
Cup winner
Dalmat played for LB Châteauroux, RC Lens - where he lifted the French Cup in 1999 - Olympique de Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain FC before joining Inter during the 2000/01 campaign. Bordeaux have won both Ligue 1 matches this season.
