Bayern banking on Schlaudraff

FC Bayern München have signed German international Jan Schlaudraff from TSV Alemannia Aachen with the highly-rated forward joining them in the summer.

FC Bayern München have signed Germany forward Jan Schlaudraff from TSV Alemannia Aachen with the 23-year-old moving to the champions in the summer.

'Looking forward'
Schlaudraff has been given a three-year contract by Bayern having risen to prominence this season with six goals in 15 games for the Bundesliga newcomers, who are 13th in the 18-team table. "I am looking forward to the next six months in Aachen and I will do anything to travel to Munich having helped Aachen to stay in the league," he said. "I can continue to develop there and also gain international experience." He scored against Bayern in Aachen's surprise 4-2 victory in the German Cup last 16 on 19 December.

International bow
The financial terms of the deal for the player who made his international debut in last October's 2-0 friendly victory against Georgia have not been disclosed. Schlaudraff began his career with VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach but rose to prominence with eleven goals in 29 matches for Aachen last season as they earned promotion. Bayern travel to Real Madrid CF on 20 February for the first leg of their UEFA Champions League first knockout round tie. The second leg will be in Munich on 7 March.
