Lyon lose Coupet to thigh strain

Olympique Lyonnais will be without Grégory Coupet for the next fortnight after the French international goalkeeper picked up a thigh injury on Sunday.

Olympique Lyonnais will be without French international goalkeeper Grégory Coupet for their next three games due to a thigh injury. The 34-year-old picked up the problem in his left leg in the warm-up for yesterday's 3-1 win at Aviron Bayonnais in the French Cup.

'Next two weeks'
"Coupet will miss the next two weeks," said a statement today from the the French champions, who are expected to continue with Rémy Vercoutre, who deputised against Aviron, for upcoming matches against Toulouse FC in Ligue 1, Le Mans UC 72 in the French League Cup semi-final and US Laon in the French Cup Round of 32. However, Coupet should be back in action for France's friendly international with Argentina on 7 February and Lyon's meeting with AS Roma in the UEFA Champions League first knockout round.
