Milan get hold of youngster Grimi

Carlo Ancelotti's AC Milan have signed 21-year-old Argentinian left-back Leandro Grimi from Racing Club de Avellaneda on a contract until summer 2011.

AC Milan have signed Argentinian left-back Leandro Grimi from Racing Club de Avellaneda for an undisclosed fee.

'Very promising'
The 21-year-old has put pen to paper on a contract until 2011 having impressed in Milan's recent training camp in Malta, which included a friendly against local side Birkirkara FC. He was voted the best young player of the 2006 autumn Apertura tournament in Argentina, and his new coach Carlo Ancelotti said: "Grimi is young and very promising. I like the fact that not many people know him. I think he can become very useful for us."

Eligible for Europe
He could make his debut tonight in the first leg of Milan's Coppa Italia quarter-final with AC Arezzo, and is eligible to be registered for their UEFA Champions League last 16 tie with Celtic FC.
