The 28-year-old Stanković, recently voted Serbian Player of 2006, joined Inter in January 2004 from S.S. Lazio after five and a half seasons with the capital side in which he won the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and a league and cup double. This term Stanković has played 20 games in Serie A for leaders Inter, scoring five goals, as well as five matches in the UEFA Champions League. Inter will face Valencia CF in the first knockout round on 21 February and 6 March.
