Zagreb beckons for Balaban again

NK Dinamo Zagreb have announced that they have signed the Croatian international striker Boško Balaban on a three-year contract from Club Brugge KV.

Croatian champions NK Dinamo Zagreb have announced that they have signed striker Boško Balaban from Club Brugge KV.

Three-year deal
Dinamo executive vice-president Zdravko Mamić said that the 28-year-old Croatian international has rejoined the capital club on a three-year contract after four seasons in Belgium with Club Brugge.

Villa frustration
Balaban scored 40 goals in 83 league games for Club Brugge, who had signed him from Aston Villa FC in 2003/04. He failed to make an impact with the Premier League side, having arrived from Dinamo during the 2001/02 campaign and then been loaned back to the Zagreb team the following season. Dinamo are looking to fill the gap left by Eduardo da Silva's move to Arsenal FC. They lead 2-1 following the away first leg of their UEFA Champions League second qualifying round tie against Slovenia's NK Domžale.
