Scoring record
The 32-year-old will spend at least another two seasons with the club he joined from Bologna FC in 2003 and where has scored 34 goals in 86 Serie A games. Last term he hit seven in 15 appearances as Roberto Mancini's side won the Scudetto with a Serie A points record of 97. The former CA Banfield, CA River Plate and Feyenoord player also struck three goals in four UEFA Champions League outings before Inter were eliminated by Valencia CF in the first knockout round.

Coco departs
Inter have also cancelled defender Francesco Coco's contract, due to expire in 2009, by mutual consent. The 30-year-old former Italy left-back spent the last two campaigns on loan at AS Livorno Calcio and Torino FC. Inter will kick off their UEFA Champions League challenge at Fenerbahçe SK on 19 September and will also take on PSV Eindhoven and PFC CSKA Moskva in Group G.
