FC Salzburg's hopes of making progress in the UEFA Champions League have suffered a blow with the news that striker Louis Ngwat Mahop has been ruled out for at least three months with a torn thigh muscle sustained in last Sunday's Bundesliga opener.

Bayern beginning
The 21-year-old Cameroonian was substituted shortly before half-time in the 2-1 defeat of FK Austria Wien and will play no further part in Salzburg's bid to reach the group stage of Europe's premier club competition, which continues with the visit of NK Dinamo Zagreb in the third qualifying round on Wednesday. Ngwat Mahop began his career with FC Bayern München's reserves in 2006/07, making one substitute appearance for the first team later the same season. He moved to Salzburg in 2007 where he has scored four goals in 40 league appearances.
