R. Standard de Liège are resigned to being without captain Steven Defour for up to three months after the midfielder had surgery on
a broken foot sustained in Saturday's 3-0 victory against KV Mechelen.

Quick surgery
The Belgian international, 21, underwent an operation within hours of being carried off at the Maurice Dufrasne Stadium and will be inactive for six weeks. The Belgian titleholders' medical staff estimate it will be as long as three months until he makes a complete recovery, however, potentially ruling him out of their entire UEFA Champions League Group H campaign. There is some good news for Standard as midfielder Wilfried Dalmat and striker Igor De Camargo are expected to shake off respective ankle and leg injuries in time to face Arsenal FC on Wednesday.
